Winner of the Grand Prize at the Global EdTech Startup Awards 2025
With The World participated in the Japan preliminary round of the Global EdTech Startup Awards 2025, held on October 30, 2025, and won the grand prize. This has earned them the right to compete in the final round, which will be held in London, UK in January 2026.
About the Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESA)
The Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESA) is the world's largest EdTech competition, with over 8,000 companies participating from 135 countries. The competition consists of preliminary rounds held in 130 countries and a final round in London for companies that qualify. The GESA Japan preliminary round was organized by the Global EdTech Promotion Committee, a general incorporated association, with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The competition was judged based on the following five criteria:
・Accurately solves issues in the EdTech market
- Offering innovative educational approaches
- Has a good user experience
- There is a possibility that the number of users will increase significantly
・It is a sustainable business model
EdTech connects children with the world
We would like to introduce our strengths as an EdTech company in three areas.
〇 Seeing social issues that are mentioned in textbooks with your own eyes
By interacting with local students online, students learn about the culture, history, and challenges of their host country. By visiting places where they face social issues, such as waste disposal sites and slums, which are not accessible to tourists, students will be able to deeply understand the issues and make them their own.
* International exchange that transcends language and culture
By sharing a common learning environment and experience, students from diverse backgrounds can share their differences while also discovering commonalities as fellow human beings. Through this interaction, students develop a sense of being "global citizens" and develop common perspectives and values.
Online learning helps address social issues
A portion of the proceeds from the online international exchange will be donated to NPOs and NGOs working in the local area to fund their support activities. Not only will you learn about the local area, but by participating in the online international exchange, you will also have the experience of helping local people.
The final competition will be held in London, UK.
We will be participating in the final pitch contest to be held at ExCeL London in the UK on Thursday, January 22, 2026. This will be a challenge to compete in a forum where more than 35,000 educators and EdTech leaders from around the world will gather.
