A portion of the participation fee will support local activities!
A portion of the participation fee will be donated to a local NGO to be used for donating computers and establishing a school. It will also be an opportunity for students to get involved in problem solving.

Narutaki Elementary School (Sennan City)

Cultural exchange with students from Davao City, Philippines, which is Sennan City's sister city. We introduced each other's cultures and deepened our exchange.
Toyo University Himeji Junior and Senior High School

The four-day program aimed to use English as a tool to make new discoveries about different cultures. After preparing for the international exchange with university student staff, the exchange took place.
Students have commented, "I realized how much fun it is to actually speak English," and "I was able to have a few conversations with students from overseas, which made me want to learn more English and speak more."
Kagoshima Prefectural Shibushi High School

Online international exchanges were held four times a year. Taking advantage of the regional characteristics of Vietnam, where many technical intern trainees have ties, participants deepened their exchanges by introducing each other to "things from each other's countries that are around them."
Toyama Information and Business College

We developed the product together with Indonesian students and local companies, and spent several months thinking about how to make "Toyama Black," a specialty of Toyama Prefecture, popular in Indonesia, which is an Islamic country.

It was a very fulfilling week where I was able to learn a lot. I was glad that I was able to learn a wide range of things about the Philippines' social issues, living environment, history, etc. in line with the SDGs. The local members were also very friendly and kind, and I enjoyed spending time with them until the end. I was really happy to be able to become friends with the Japanese members who participated in the training with me, and I was able to create good memories that will last a lifetime.
I was able to see and learn about social problems in the Philippines with my own eyes, and think about how to solve them and why they occur. I also think that being in an environment with a different language helped me grow in terms of my English studies.

They share with the world themes that are close to students' hearts and that they explore throughout the year at school.

Students from around the world will present issues from a variety of perspectives, deepening their understanding of issues in their own countries and around the world.
3Learning from peers around the world

Seeing the set assignments and presentations by students of the same age from around the world and all over Japan will be a valuable learning experience for students in the future.

A presentation that raised and investigated the issue of excessive paper use from a student's perspective to teachers.
Based on the survey conducted within the school, we proposed which materials we would like to have provided in paper form and which materials we would like to have provided digitally.

We proposed "Cardy," a communication tool to overcome the language barrier for children with foreign roots who have challenges communicating in Japanese.

Voice of teachers and our former participants

Even though globalization has progressed, there are not many opportunities for high school students to communicate with people of the same age from other countries. Moreover, I think that the depth of the content of working together in class, which goes beyond the framework of "fun" intercultural exchange, is a great stimulus for the students. The classes are of course in English, so they can have live communication that is different from English classes. Sometimes they can't express their feelings, but they learn the tricks even for small things, and I think they gained the joy and confidence of being able to communicate. I also think it was great that they were involved in a project that has an impact on the real world, rather than a memorization test. There may be a limit to what high school students can do, but I think the students gained a great sense of accomplishment by collaborating and communicating with people outside of school.

English is a tool of communication. The starting point of learning is to think about what and whom you want to talk with in English. The World’s Program uses an effective online platform which is different from other online lessons and provides students in Japan and different countries to connect efficiently. The World’s Program provides students with opportunities to communicate with those who are in the same age bracket, which allows them to break the ice easily. They can design the world's future by discussing issues of each others’ countries and initiating action. I would like more middle and high school students to experience how exciting it is to use English to broaden their horizons and to make someone happy.
