Ibukiyama TV covered international exchange at Maibara High School!

Ibukiyama TV interviewed us about the international exchange using ICT for first-year students at Shiga Prefectural Maibara High School, which was held on Friday, February 2th!

ICT x international exchange

At Shiga Prefectural Maibara High School, 1st and 26nd year students from Maibara High School participated together with students from overseas on Friday, January 2th and Friday, February 9th, using ICT devices to learn English. The class was held.

In the class for first-year students that we featured this time, we used the English that we usually learn in class to interact with each other. At the beginning, they introduced themselves, their hobbies, and broke the ice by showing each other familiar objects that were given as a topic, which helped them get closer to the overseas students. Afterwards, we conducted interviews about foreign cultures and deepened our understanding of each other's cultures.

In addition, second-year students held a class that linked inquiry learning and English learning, and used English to present the results of the inquiry learning they were working on in their regular classes. After the presentation, the students asked questions and received feedback from the Indian students, deepening their understanding of inquiry learning.

Through practical English communication in this way, we hope that you will come into contact with different cultures, accept different values and cultures, and foster friendships that transcend differences. In addition, by combining inquiry classes and English learning, students will be able to think about the nature of SDGs and social issues, and consider what we, who live in a global world, can do to solve social issues. That's what I'm aiming for.
