- Overview of Kagoshima Prefecture's global education project -
in Kagoshima prefecture"Developing human resources who can play an active role as leaders who have both internationalism and love for their hometown."Based on this philosophy, this project, sponsored by the Kagoshima Prefectural Government, was launched.Eight public junior high schools and 8 prefectural high schools in Kagoshima Prefecture will have long-term online exchanges with students from local schools in Taiwan, Australia, and Vietnam, learning about English communication and different cultures. They gave presentations introducing the places where they grew up, talked about things like school and what they do on their days off, and deepened their friendships while discovering their similarities and differences. After interacting online, you can gain even deeper international experience through on-the-job training by visiting the overseas schools you have interacted with.

-First step: On-site training in Taiwan-
In this project's first on-site training in Taiwan, seven students from seven schools that had exchanges with local schools in Taiwan participated free of charge. The students departed from Japan on September 7th and visited local schools for two days.
At the high school, local students served as school guides and welcomed students from Kagoshima!
On the first day of my visit, I joined the class and experienced classes in Japanese, geography, and music. In our geography class, we presented in English the famous places and foods of our hometown, Kagoshima, and were able to introduce our hometown to Taiwanese students. At the same time, we were able to introduce ``Japan as seen from Taiwan'' and ``Japan as seen from Taiwan'' in classes at local schools. It was an opportunity to study Japanese culture from a foreign perspective and gain a deeper understanding of Japan from an international perspective. In addition, in music class, the students translated some of the lyrics of Japanese singer MISIA's ``Ai no Katachi'' into Chinese and taught it to the Kagoshima students, and they sang together, giving them a fun way to experience foreign languages. was completed.
On the second day of the visit, the exchange school planned a tour to introduce the history and famous spots of Zhunan Town in Miaoli County, and the local students promoted the area in Japanese. In the afternoon, the students enjoyed cross-cultural exchange by making ``Kikkasu'', a traditional sweet with a chrysanthemum motif, together with students from the Food and Beverage Department.
Students in Kagoshima are
"I saw a lot of things I had never seen in Japan and learned a lot. It felt very fresh."
It seems that they were able to gain a lot of learning and meaningful international exchange experience through this training in Taiwan.

-Finally-
Having the opportunity to talk with people who grew up in a different place and culture than myself, and having the opportunity to actually go to a foreign country like this time, allows me to step away from my own ``common sense'' and do things differently. This will give you an opportunity to see things from multiple angles. In addition, through cross-cultural exchange, you will not only learn about the other person's culture, but you will also be able to see Japan from the world's perspective, and gain a deeper understanding of what kind of place Japan is.Our company will continue to aim to develop international leaders who are cosmopolitan and have an understanding of their own culture.
This time we introduced the training in Taiwan, but there will be students who will be leaving for Vietnam for the second time!We hope that the training in Vietnam will be fruitful for the students.
